Who doesn’t like a sexy librarian? And that’s exactly what she is. It had been years since I’d been to a library before I came in a few months ago, desperate to find an old copy of Architectural Digest.
I had a very wealthy — and very eccentric — client who remembered seeing a house in a 1960s edition of the magazine that had elements he wanted me to incorporate into the home I was designing for him.
I’d scoured Amazon and Ebay with no luck until the receptionist at my architectural firm suggested the library. So I’d gone to the branch that was on my way home from work. When I’d stepped in and smelled the old books, my lips had curved up into a smile. I’d been a bit of a nerd in high school and still loved the musty smell of books.
The older woman behind the information desk gave a ready smile and quietly asked if I needed help.
