It was research. That’s what Katie told herself as she put on the dress she’d just bought that day. The cobalt blue material clung to her body like Saran Wrap, criss-crossing around her breasts and leaving her back bare. She wasn’t sure she really had the guts to do it, but she was going to try.
“These people don’t know you,” she told herself. “They’ll never see you again.”
The dress was so skimpy, she couldn’t wear a bra. She felt naked. She blew out a steady breath as she took one last look in the mirror before walking out the door.
She noticed men’s eyes on her as soon as she walked into the club. She observed their reactions, memorizing them for later. Some men smirked, some smiled. One guy held up his glass in toast to her.
